Dear Rabbi Cahn,
Well the dust has settled so to speak, and I’m getting to a more normal (for me) state.
I wanted to write and tell you about some of the comments and reactions that we heard at the wedding and afterward, even if you’ve already heard some of this. Nancy and I certainly enjoyed it immensely, and we could tell especially by Sara’s demeanor during the ceremony that you really did connect with them. We had several members of our family tell us that this was definitely the nicest marriage ceremony they had ever been to. Several people also were surprised to learn that you are not the rabbi of our congregation. They explained to us that they had assumed so, because to them you seemed to be already so well acquainted with Sara & Patrick.
Sara has admitted to us (as I expected) that she was still reluctant when I first asked her to meet with you, but has also said to me (several times) how grateful she is for having you officiate.
So I hope this little note serves to convey the heartfelt gratitude of all of us to you for our daughter’s marriage ceremony. It was definitely something to celebrate!
